In a fitting tribute to the builder of the rising New India, the nation is celebrating the 72nd birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Seva Pakhwara (service fortnight). The celebrations were kicked off on the day of his birthday, September 17, and will continue till the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2. In pursuance of an elaborate schedule worked out by the BJP Central Committee, district-level exhibitions are being organised by the party workers to promote programmes related to ‘Unity in Diversity and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. Blood donation camps, free heath check-ups and distribution of artificial limbs and equipment are being organised all over the country. Tree plantation drives and several cleanliness campaigns have also been included in the programmes outlined for PM Modi’s birthday celebrations.
The party is also promoting a book, ‘Modi @20 Sapne Hue Sakaar’. It is also running a year-long programme to make the country tuberculosis-free. Under this programme, people will be encouraged to adopt a TB patient and take care of him for one year. Last year, the PM Modi’s birthday was made historic with India setting a world record of the maximum number of Covid-19 vaccinations in a single day
