NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party is celebrating its 44th Foundation Day today. The BJP was formed 43 years ago on 6 April, 1980. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the workers for 45 minutes.
The Prime Minister said, ‘I bow down to the workers and the leaders who have nurtured, enriched and empowered the party till date.’ He exhorted the workers not be overconfident, but retain their connect with the people.
As the nation is celebrating Hanuman Jayanti, he said that BJP emulates the ‘Can Do’ attitude of Hanumanji in the service of the nation. When Hanumanji had to take on the demons, he became stern. When it comes to corruption, nepotism, law and order, BJP becomes equally determined to cleanse the polity.
The PM blasted opposition parties for selectively targeting him. They had not imagined that peace would dawn in Kashmir and the North East, and the Article 370 would become history. The BJP is accomplishing the feats which were not done for decades, and the Opposition is not able to digest this good work. “Our emphasis is on development and welfare of the countrymen. The people with an imperialist mentality do not know one thing. Today the country’s poor, common man, youth, mothers-sisters, and exploited-deprived sections are standing as a shield to feed and protect the lotus of BJP.”
Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda hoisted the party flag at the BJP headquarters in Delhi in the morning. In Lucknow too, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the flag at the party office.
BJP will celebrate Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary from April 6 till April 14 as social justice week. The party has told the workers to celebrate social reformer Jyoti Ba Phule’s birth anniversary on April 11 and Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 at all booths, mandal, district and state offices.
