NEW DELHI: India is making significant strides towards becoming a leading exporter of power equipment, with global industry leaders showing increasing interest in the country’s manufacturing capabilities, according to Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary in the Ministry of Power.

Speaking at ELECRAMA 2025 global conference in Greater Noida, Agarwal reaffirmed the Government’s strong support for the power industry, emphasising policies that enhance domestic manufacturing, secure raw material access, and expand testing infrastructure.

“The Government is fully committed to supporting the power sector – whether through policy frameworks, ensuring access to key raw materials, or enhancing testing infrastructure. We are determined to position India as a global hub for power equipment manufacturing,” he stated.

Agarwal also underscored India’s commitment to clean energy, modernising its power grids, and scaling up domestic production. “Platforms like ELECRAMA 2025 bring together industry leaders to align with national goals and drive innovation in power and energy,” he added.

ELECRAMA is the flagship event of the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association, serving as platform for business collaboration and technology showcasing.

The conference also hosted the launch of World Utility Summit, a platform focused on fostering global partnerships in energy transition, AI-driven power solutions, and future-ready utilities aimed at achieving decarbonisation. NTPC Chairman & Managing Director Gurdeep Singh reaffirmed NTPC’s leadership in India’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. “ELECRAMA 2025 showcases the rapid evolution of India’s power sector. The vast array of innovative products and machinery on display highlights the success of the Make in India initiative,” Singh noted.

“With a robust manufacturing ecosystem and growing international collaborations, India is not just strengthening its domestic power infrastructure but is also on track to become a key exporter of high-quality power equipment,” he added.
