PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on October 9 laid the foundation stone of various development projects in Maharashtra worth over Rs 7600 crore through videoconference. Speaking on the launch of these projects, Prime Minister said that various developmental projects across major sectors have been launched and completed in Maharashtra in the last few years.
He added that Maharashtra has never witnessed such speedy development in its history. He said that the Central Government has fulfilled the long- lived dream of the Marathi Manus by conferring the status of Classical Language to Marathi.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the upgradation of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs 7000 crore. It will serve as a catalyst for growth across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and healthcare, benefitting Nagpur city and the wider Vidarbha region.
He laid the foundation stone of the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport worth over Rs 645 crore. “It will provide world-class facilities and amenities for the religious tourists coming to Shirdi. The construction theme of the proposed terminal is based on the spiritual neem tree of Sai Baba,” the PMO said in a release.
In line with his commitment to ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all, PM Modi launched operationalisation of 10 Government Medical Colleges in Maharashtra located at Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli and Ambernath (Thane).
