NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, inaugurated the 2-day Regional Conference on Good Governance in Jaipur. During the event, he lauded India’s progress towards becoming a “Viksit” Bharat, emphasising the effective groundwork accomplished over the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two-day conference is organised by the Government of Rajasthan in collaboration with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). The main highlight of the conference is an award ceremony for the winners of the 2022 PM’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.
Singh highlighted the Modi Government’s commitment to adopting new-age technologies for efficient good governance and service delivery to citizens. He noted that several best practices, such as aspirational districts, Gatishakti, and the Covid vaccine rollout, have become role models, even recognised by other nations.
The minister also stressed the importance of empowering citizens and ensuring that every individual has access to essential needs like healthcare, education, and employment.
Dr Jitendra Singh commended the DARPG for organising sessions by recipients of PM Awards and stressed the significance of replicating and disseminating Best Practices for Good Governance.
He noted that the conference serves as vital platforms for knowledge transfer and mutual benefit, encouraging the formation of officers’ groups with Citizen Centricity to accelerate national development.
Singh highlighted the substantial increase in grievances filed across the country and improvements in grievance disposal due to DARPG reforms, reflecting increased public trust in grievance redressal.
