The Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman is set to host its first business forum in January to bolster investment in the region and enhance its contribution to the national income.

The forum is being sponsored by Abdulsalam bin Mohamed al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority. It aims to explore 35 investment opportunities.

The forum is being organised in collaboration with various entities, including the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP), the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT), ASMED, OCCI, and Madayn.

The forum focuses on diverse sectors, including industrial, heritage, tourism, agriculture, and municipality, with the objective of attracting a wide range of investors, supporting national industries, and creating job opportunities for residents.

Alongside it, the Governorate of Dakhiliyah has earmarked over £6 million for projects scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. Governor Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri emphasised the significance of creating public spaces, parks, and gardens to meet the needs of the growing population. Among the planned projects are the Dakhiliyah Boulevard, Nizwa Park, Nizwa entrance project, and Jabal Akdar Park. Governor Hajri outlined a comprehensive roadmap, envisioning the paving of 600km of internal roads by 2025, alongside the development of commercial areas, marketplaces, and a bus station in the Farq area.

The Dakhiliyah Boulevard project, focusing on health and recreation, is scheduled to commence next year. Hajri highlighted the completion of groundwork for internal road projects and emphasised the forthcoming execution in the residential developments sector.
