NEW DELHI: Admiral Brad Cooper visited the USS Lincoln as reports have emerged of mental health and supply issues. The Lincoln arrived in the Middle East in January and has been supporting the US war against Iran, including the blockade on Iranian ports. It has spent a recordsetting uninterrupted time at sea of more than 240 days.
In a statement on August 16, Cooper praised the leadership for making mental health and resilience a priority.
For more than a month now, there have been reports of deteriorating conditions aboard the ship. At a town hall with senior US Navy oႈcers held earlier in August, families spoke of sailors feeling distressed, and at least two trying to jump overboard. But President Trump has called the reports fake.
