PRIME Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects totaling Rs 5,500 crore in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on December 13. The initiatives are part of preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025.
During his visit, the PM participated in religious ceremonies at various sacred sites. These included performing rituals at the Sangam, Akshay Vata Vriksh, Hanuman Mandir, and Saraswati Koop.
Among the projects inaugurated are various infrastructure works, including rail and road improvements such as 10 road over-bridges, permanent ghats, and riverfront roads. The projects aim to enhance travel convenience in the area.
In line with his commitment to a cleaner Ganga, PM Modi inaugurated initiatives to intercept, tap, divert, and treat minor drains flowing into the river. These measures aim to prevent untreated water from polluting the Ganga, furthering the objectives of the Swachh and Nirmal Ganga mission.
The Prime Minister inaugurated major temple corridors which will include the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor, Akshayvat Corridor, and Hanuman Mandir Corridor among others.
