NEW DELHI: The Technology Development Board (TDP) has signed the first agreement under Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban 2.0 – aimed at realising Prime Minister’s vision of making all Indian cities garbage free – with M/s Sahi Fab Private Limited, New Delhi for development & commercialisation of agricultural waste of stem materials like industrial hemp, flax and nettle into fibre. The TDB, a statutory body of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has pledged a support of ₹1.38 crore out of the total project cost of ₹2.08 crore.
With an aim to creating wealth out of the unexploited waste, the startup has come up with an innovative solution by manufacturing fiber /fibrous products out of discarded material.
