NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored alluring prospects of collaboration with India for global business community, in his address to the B20 Summit in New Delhi on August 27. He emphasised India’s burgeoning young talent pool and its sweeping digital revolution as the key drivers for partnership.
The PM articulated that businesses, irrespective of size or origin, possessed remarkable potential to metamorphose challenges into opportunities, potential into prosperity, and aspirations into achievements, thus steering progress for all.
He acclaimed India’s emergence as a trusted and efficient global supply-chain partner, and reflected on its commendable response during Covid-19 when it extended life-saving medicines to over 150 countries.
Digital revolution
The PM lauded India’s pivotal role in digital revolution and accentuated the indispensability of equilibrium between producer and consumer interests for sustaining a thriving market. He cautioned against the myopic approach of treating other countries solely as markets, emphasising its detrimental effects.
Underscoring India’s prowess in space technology, PM Modi commended the ISRO’s instrumental role in the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. He commended the collective efforts of the industry, MSMEs, and private enterprises that contributed to the mission’s triumph.
Consumer care
The Prime Minister urged businesses to shift their focus from merely commemorating Consumer Rights Day to prioritising consumer care. He proposed the observance of an ‘International Consumer Care Day’ to elevate this ethos.
Prime Minister Modi incorporated a forwardlooking perspective, asserting that while the world was engaged in discussions about carbon credit, India had pioneered a green credit system – a pro-planet approach that he urged every nation to adopt.
