Nishant BhaijiFollowing the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, devotees from both India and abroad will have the unique opportunity to experience the divine presence of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.

The eagerly- awaited darshan is scheduled to commence on January 23. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has meticulously prepared for this momentous occasion, making provisions to accommodate over three lakh devotees daily.

The primary entrance to the temple is the Lion Gate, also known as ‘Singh Dwar.’ Devotees approaching from the eastern direction, via the Singh Dwar, will have the opportunity to witness the divine presence of Lord Ram from a distance of 30 feet, following a climb of 32 stairs.

Elevating experience

Within the garbha griha (sanctum sanctorum) of the grand temple, the shyam rang (dark-coloured) idol of Ram Lalla, sculpted on ‘Krishana Shila’ (black stone) by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj (See pic above) will be there for darshan. The old idol of Ram Lalla will also be housed there alongside that of his three brothers.

In an endeavor to elevate the overall devotee experience, the Trust is orchestrating prasad distribution following the darshan of Ram Lalla. Importantly, the prasad will be exclusively reserved for those actively participating in darshan and puja.

In anticipation of the surge in attendance, the Trust is bolstering security measures around the temple, steadfastly maintaining its commitment to prioritizing temple security despite potential crowd pressures.

The darshan timings have been established from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the morning and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the afternoon/evening, ensuring uninterrupted access to Lord Shri Ram. These timings are subject to change.

Initially, the darshan is limited to two lanes, but plans are in progress to operationalise four lanes, significantly expanding the daily capacity to accommodate approximately one and a half to two lakh people.

World-class facilities

Devotees visiting Ram Lalla will benefit from convenient amenities, including accommodation and travel arrangements facilitated by the Trust. Furthermore, provisions for water, restrooms, and prasad distribution for Ram devotees are in place.

The temple complex is equipped with world-class facilities, featuring ramps and lifts for the disabled and elderly, along with a passenger convenience centre capable of accommodating nearly 25,000 visitors.

Inside the Ram Mandir complex, devotees will have the opportunity to pray at the temples dedicated to those who accompanied or were with Lord Ram on his journey.

Temples dedicated to Maharshi Valmiki, Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Nishad Raj, Mata Shabri, and the revered consort of Devi Ahilya are currently in development.
