During talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating economic and strategic collaboration. Both sides witnessed the exchange of 11 agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.

Trade and investment remained a central focus, with both nations aiming to boost bilateral commerce beyond the current level of about $18.6 billion. The leaders also highlighted cooperation in energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and digital economy as key drivers of future growth. PM Modi reiterated India’s firm stance against terrorism and emphasised deeper collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region. The visit also highlighted strong cultural and people-to-people links, reinforced by the PM’s interaction with Indian diaspora in Malaysia. Overall, the visit signalled a renewed momentum in India-Malaysia relations, aligning with India’s ‘Act East’ policy and broader Asean engagement
