Deepak DwivediPERENNIAL naysayers, who saw the outcome of 2024 General Elections as a setback to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are red-faced as within days of forming the Government, he has proved that besides being in total command, he is resolute as ever to fulfil the promises made to the people.

The allocation of portfolios to the 72-member Council of Ministers, the first few decisions of the Union Cabinet and the move to draw up an agenda for action to achieve Viksit Bharat 2047 goals demonstrate the unwavering commitment of Modi 3.0. And with all the NDA allies on board, PM Modi is also set to create a new paradigm in coalition politics.

No agenda dilution

The retention of stalwarts like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar and Nitin Gadkari in the Union Cabinet with the same portfolios as in Modi 2.0 underlines an unequivocal message. And the message is that under PM Modi, the BJP is here to lead with a steady hand, and there will be no dilution of its agenda or priorities in the face of coalition politics.

The quick decision-making is a testament PM Modi’s ability to balance alliance dynamics while maintaining a firm grip on the steering wheel of the Government. The induction of BJP President JP Nadda and former CMs Shivraj Chouhan and Manohar Lal brings not only experienced administrators but also staunch supporters of the party’s foundational values.

The message is that under PM Modi, the BJP is here to lead with a steady hand, and there will be no dilution of its agenda or priorities in the face of coalition politics

This consolidates PM Modi’s position and sends a message that the coalition will benefit from the diverse expertise of these veteran politicians. The blend of youth and experience ensures that the Government is well-equipped to handle the complexities of a coalition. The inclusion of leaders from various states and diverse backgrounds reflects the PM’s intent to create a Government that is not only inclusive but also resilient.

Walking the talk

Within days of formation of the Government, PM Modi has also demonstrated that he walks the talk. The first decision of his Cabinet was to build another three crore houses for the poor under PMAY. And the first file he signed authorised the release of fresh instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.

These are not mere optics. During his two terms, the Government has brought millions from the clutches of poverty and made India world’s fastest-growing economy. In his third term, PM Modi has started laying the foundation of the promised Vikisit Bharat @ 2047
