Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the work on the Mumbai-Goa highway will be completed by December this year. At the same time, this will give a big boost to the development in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, said the Minister during the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony in Panvel.
The Transport Minister also announced the construction of Rs 13,000 crore Morbe-Karanjade road. This road will pass through Jawaharlal Nehru Port. Along with this, the work on Rs 1,200 crore Kalamboli Junction and Rs 1,2000 Pagode Junction will also start soon.
The highway will give a big boost to the possibilities of development of Konkan as it touches 66 tourist destinations in the region.
