DEHRADUN: After a gap of almost a year, Uttarakhand finally got its regular Director-General of Police (DGP). Deepam Seth, a 1995 batch IPS officer, took charge as DGP of the state recently. He replaced Abhinav Kumar (1996 IPS batch) who was officiating as DGP since November last year.
Seth was on a Central deputation serving as Additional Director-General(ADG) in the Seema Sahastra Bal(SSB). Widely known as an upright officer, Seth had earlier served in different senior positions, including as IGP, in the state before being to sent on deputation as ADG in SSB.
Spelling out his priorities, Seth expressed that he will try to usher in more transparency in policing and make it more people centric.
